Mattress Selection

​

All rooms have light-blocking curtains and fans in the closet, under the bedside table, or in the bench seats. Feel free to move the bedroom pillows around to different rooms suit your comfort.

 

There are three bedrooms around the stairs:

Papa Bear is the smallest, facing the back of the house and the sunrise. It has a firm mattress (and those room darkening curtains if sunrise isn't your thing). Mama Bear is the middle room with the pink bedspread, and it has a pillow top mattress. Baby Bear is the largest room with two windows facing the sunset and has a medium-soft mattress. Upstairs, the twin mattresses are both 10-inch memory foam. Please note the extra step into/out of the top floor bedroom for your safety.

Getting Around In The Kitchen

​

The hand soap dispenser is automatic: simply hold your hand under the nozzle. The dish soap is the blue liquid in the dispenser, and there are dishwasher tablets under the sink should you choose to use the diswasher.

​

Cups, wine glasses, tumblers, and mugs are next to the refrigerator. Please use the plastic cups if going outside.

​

You can unplug the ice machine if the noise begins to annoy you. There is also ice in the refrigerator dispenser.

​

On the bar side, in those cabinets you will find puzzles, crafts, games, coloring. There is a puzzle board at the foot of the door to the garage to set on the dining room table, and another on the shelf in the coffee table. The top of the coffee table can be lifted toward you.

Pool & Hot Tub

​

You'll find pool/hot tub towels rolled up in the cubbies by the back door: exit through the laundry room. Please hang up wet pool/hot tub towels on the rack in the laundry room to dry to prevent mildew.

 

Some back porch light switches are inside, some outside the back door. One of the house floodlight switches is actually inside by the back door. I recommend leaving enough lights on outside to see steps should you need to exit in the dark in an emergency.

 

The hot tub cover requires two people to remove it: slide it off to the SIDE.

Shower off body oils, lotions, deoderant, etc. to keep water clean. The jets in the hot tub will only run for a set time and then turn off to remind you to sit up on the edge or get out to cool off. Please do not have drinks in or around the hot tub except for water, but do stay hydrated!

The Jet Tub

​

Upstairs, the soaking tub is a luxurious experience. Sit and swivel to get in and out, especially to avoid having to tip forward to get out.

 

To Jet or Not to Jet: there is Epsom salt in the middle drawer of the vanity; you may want to use one or two in a bath for sore muscles. Ensure the salt is thoroughly dissolved before starting the jets. Press the button on the inside rim, on the right if seated facing the faucet, to start the jets. (The knob is not actually a knob.)

 

If you would like to use bath milk or bubble bath, do not use them with the jets. Those will clog and damage the jet lines. If you want to use a bath bomb or anything with herbs, glitter, flower petals, etc., please change your mind for the sake of the plumbing!

Upstairs Shower Knobs

​

You have to pull the big center knob to start the water. The smaller knob is for the lower shower heads.

​

Fireplaces: IMPORTANT INFO

​

If you are unfamiliar with fireplaces, this weekend is not the time to learn: do not attempt a fire in either fireplace. Duraflame Logs only must be used inside, and only one at a time. They are stored in the cupboard next to the fireplace. This year's wood has not been cured enough to stay lit in that size box. You must open the flue before starting the fire, and close it after the smoldering has ended. You will be responsible for restoration of the space after any smoke damage.

 

Outside, the wood logs should burn sufficiently. Do not throw trash into the fire, and ensure the fire is not burning when you go inside for the night. The fire extinguisher is for emergency use only.

Groceries, Gas: Click each name to open a Google Map.

Crossroads IGA in Greenbrier, about 10 min away, is a small grocer with most of your basic needs.

Discount Top Shelf Wines and Liquors is on the right side before you reach the IGA.

Shell is next to the IGA.

TriStar Energy (gas) is very nearly next to the liquor store.

Galbreath Grocery is an easy stop on the way towards Nashville for gas and convenience items.

Things to Do

​

Should you want to get out of the house, Joelton and Greenbrier are the closest small towns, followed by the slightly larger Goodlettsville.

 

Downtown Nashville is about 30 minutes away. Check The Nashville Downtown Partnership's web site on getting around, which also has a map of parking options.

 

For an ever-epanding and deepening database of things to do in Nashville besides Honky-Tonkin', my list of 90 things will at the very least give you plenty of ideas you can seek deeper information on.

Check-Out Process

Check out is by 5 PM.

​

• If you fill up a trash bag, you can throw it in the green bin behind the garage. Otherwise, I will take care of it.

• Leave beds messy so I know which ones to reset.

• Leave throw blankets out on the couch so I know to wash them.

• Please let me know of any issues or damage.

• Text me about 30 minutes before you leave.

• Close and lock all exterior doors and windows. Lock the front door as you leave by closing it tight and pressing the lock button in the upper right corner of the keypad.
